When people think of taking a vacation, popular places like Orlando with its warm weather and theme parks typically come to mind. Or maybe their mind goes to downhill skiing at a winter resort in Colorado, or a quaint lodge in New England somewhere. But there are many places that offer fun and relaxation that people don’t usually think about, or may not even be aware of.
The Wisconsin Dells
When someone mentions Wisconsin cheese usually comes to mind, but they have a lot more offer when it comes to letting go and having fun. The Wisconsin Dells has great amusement parks that includes attractions like:

· Kalahari indoor theme park.
· Knuckleheads bowling and indoor amusement park.
· Mt. Olympus water and theme parks.

There are also Vegas style shows that are great for people of any age including Circus World, Rick Wilcox Magic Theater, and the Tommy Bartlett Show filled with professional water skiers doing Daredevil stunts. There are museums, music shows and other live theatre, along with great scenic tours from the Canyon Creek Riding stables, the Dells Boat tours, and dinner cruises.
Adventures in Minnesota
Just North West of Wisconsin is the magnificent state of Minnesota which has a lot to offer for anyone who loves the great outdoors. If you vacation anytime from late Spring to early Fall you can enjoy outdoor camping at places like Campfire Bay Resort on Fish Trap Lake. While at the lake you can enjoy boat and pontoon rentals, fishing, and even crafting retreats. There are also nearby activities like
· Horseback riding.
· Hunting clubs.
· Pirates Cove mini golf.
· Go karts.
· Frisbee golf at Dower Lake Park.
· Pine Grove zoo.
If camping isn’t quite your thing than stay at the charming Hyatt on Main in Green Bay, grab a full lunch at Titletown Brewing Company and pick up some Green Bay Packers tickets and take in a game.
Oklahoma has a tremendous amount of vacation excitement to offer, there is truly something for everyone. If you want to get outside and explore the environment then take an ATV and ORV tour through some of their state parks like Talimena, Lake Murray, or Little Sahara State Park. If you are looking for the thrills but not so much of the adventure then check out any number of casinos like Oklahoma’s Lucky Seven, the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa, and the Black Gold Casino in Wilson. If neither of those things hit the spot there are a variety of other activities to enjoy like:
· Biking and hiking.
· Bird watching.
· Canoeing and kayaking.
· The art and entertainment districts.
· American Indian Cultures.
· Amusement and water parks.
· Fall Foliage and other festivals.
· Haunted Oklahoma.
· Historical sites.
· Spas and wineries.
Other Fun Destinations to Explore
Other lesser known vacation spots might be:
· Arkansas spas and mountain retreats.
· Rolling Plains Motor Speedway in Kansas.
· Whitewater rafting, or skiing in Idaho.
With so many wonderful states in America, it is likely that you can find something fun and unique to do in just about any of them you would want to explore.
